About the Maker:
Toka Osama: A Fine Arts graduate Woodworker, discovered Woodworking in 2019 and started a workshop called “Carpintera” to combine Woodworking and Art after completing courses and an internship at Cairo’s workshop Salma Zakaria: I’m Salma Zakaria, an artist passionate about visual storytelling through illustration and comics. I’ve worked on projects that reimagine Egyptian literary classics—like Miramar by Naguib Mahfouz—into graphic stories, and I’ve documented narratives from local communities such as Qursaya Island. I also create a personal satirical series called Anxious Curls about everyday life. I previously launched a small project called Rustic, which focused on simple woodcrafts and incorporated pyrography.
